CES: Motorola and Intel join hands for smartphones and tablets Motorola Medfield Intel CES Android

We already expected news from Intel at the CES on their future plans for their chipsets and we’ve got big news. Motorola and Intel have joined hands for their future smartphones and tablets which means we’ll see the future Motorola devices run on Intel’s SoC i.e. new Medfield, Atom Z2460 processor.

Intel has confirmed that Motorola will ship an Android phone in the second half of this year with the new processor and chipset but they’re not going to show any phone or prototype at the CES. Carrier validation will begin this summer. We can obviously expect an ICS device, and that we’ll learn more about it all at Mobile World Congress. Well we all know that Google will officially buy Motorola this year so this can be great news for Intel because it’ll get direct support from Google itself.
