News: Microsoft Says it Opposes SOPA SOPA protest POPA Microsoft Blackout The Stop Online Piracy Act is garnering a lot of attention in the Tech world and the big boys of the web openly opposing the Act. They have all started to protest with blackouts, starting with Reddit announcing its blackout plans. Wikipedia is the latest big name to have a blackout in protest of the Act. Now, Microsoft has weighed in on the matter by saying they oppose SOPA.They have issued a statement:

We oppose the passage of the SOPA bill as currently drafted. We think the White House statement points in a constructive way to problems with the current legislation, the need to fix them, and the opportunity for people on all sides to talk together about a better path forward.

They don’t plan to take any action although they oppose the Act, but we never know what could happen next. Stay Tuned.
