Pentax has decided to move on front its compact camera lineup with their new updated rugged versions, the WG-2 and the WG-2 GPS

The WG-2 comes with a 16MP back illuminated CMOS sensor, which allows 1080p30 Full HD video recording. The two versions of the camera are built on Pentax’s macro light design which is done by adding an  extra LED for illuminating objects that are placed close to the lens. The camera’s screens have also been updated to a 460,000 dot LCD version and will offer 28-140mm equivalent stabilised zooms. The WG-2 GPS comes along with the latest GPS chip which helps to reduce battery consumption and improve acquisitiveness times.
