Well the Galaxy Note has been on a steady ship since going on sale although it was released as a niche device with people criticizing its rather uncomfortable size for a phone but the consumers have grabbed the device with both hands and have thus made the Note II highly anticipated.

The Korean Digital Daily website reports that Samsung is planning an Unpacked event to unveil the Galaxy Note II on August 30 which is a day before the IFA expo kicks off in Berlin, Germany. The event will start at 19:00 (local time, CET) and will be all about the Galaxy Note II.

The Galaxy Note was released at IFA last year so it is obvious to expect the successor to be unveiled on the same event but the Galaxy S II was unveiled at MWC while we know the S III was announced at a separate event so we expected the Note II too to be unveiled at a separate event but we are happy to be wrong.

The rumors have been consistently suggesting the Note II to have a quad-core Exynos chipset, a 13MP camera and larger, 5.5″ screen in a narrow case thus not increasing the size. We hope Android 4.1 Jelly Bean powers the device.
