An untethered jailbreak has arrived for all the pre-A5 iOS devices(This excludes the newest iPhone 4S and iPad 2) which sets them free of their tethered jailbreak all courtesy of the iOS hacker pod2g. The Chronic Dev teams have now released it in redsn0w 0.9.10 and PwnageTool and it comes as a Cydia package as well.

The hacker is currently attempting to introduce this jailbreak to the latest iPhone 4S and iPad 2 so you can keep your fingers crossed on that. While all pre-A5 devices can enjoy iOS 5.0.1 but for those of you currently using a tethered jailbreak, you can untether via Cydia by searching for “Corona”. Pod2g tweeted warning users not to update their devices to version 5.0.2 because it would the possibilities for further jailbreak.
