With leaks on the Samsung Galaxy Mini, Samsung has officially announced the “Samsung Galaxy Tab 2″ today. Although there is no major upgrade from the Galaxy Tab, the Galaxy Tab 2 will come on board with the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It is the first Samsung Tablet to come preloaded with Android 4.0 with Samsung TouchWiz. It features a 7” TFT display and is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor.

According to JK Shin, President of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics,

The new GALAXY Tab 2 (7.0) will provide people with delighted multimedia experience and allow efficient communication”

The price of this tablet has not yet been announced by Samsung. The Galaxy Tab 2 will first hit UK markets by March and others by April. The full press release can be found in Samsung Mobile Press.
