CES: Windows 8 to probably launch in October Windows 8 Windows Microsoft CES

We all are highly anticipating the Windows 8 release because we can’t wait to see the Metro UI in all its goodness and October has been always been touted as the month when the latest version of Windows releases but we had no proof confirming it.

But according to the reports by Pocket-Lint at the CES they have been given strong indication that Windows 8 is set to launch in October, quoting director of Windows PR Janelle Poole:

“One of the things that I think is a good guideline though is we’ve always said that Windows releases come round about every three years and this year will be three years in October since we launched Windows 7. So I think that’s a good guideline to consider.”

We agree the indication is quite strong from Microsoft and we can expect Windows 8 to come anytime around October but you never know because Microsoft hasn’t confirmed it directly yet but let’s hope we get an actual date from Microsoft for the consumer release of Windows 8.
