Prisma

iOS photo filter app Prisma, which has generated a large amount of interest has now come up with the first beta version for Android. This hit iOS app originated in Russia and is able to turn any ordinary image or photo into a piece of digital art.

Prisma relies on neural networks and artificial intelligence in order to turn your photos into art, and the iOS-only app had taken the Internet by storm. There are 34 filters, each with a different artistic style. Some are modelled on famous artists or even specific paintings. So in theory – you could make your selfie look like a Mondrian or a Chagall or a Picasso. Some filters are more appropriate for portraits, while others for landscapes. Currently, Prisma doesn’t offer much in way of shooting options. You are limited to a square crop and there are no options for HDR, zoom or timer. You can load photos that you’ve already made with your main camera app, which is great. Also Unlike Instagram that now allows you to post pictures with any aspect ratio, on Prisma, you need to have a 1:1 ratio for the picture.

Over the last few weeks, the frustration of Android users, who have wanted to get their hands on a copy of the Prisma app for Android has seen a huge upswell in numbers.
