We all know that smartphones that we want, are usually exclusively available online. We can’t get to know the device before hand and this makes some of us skeptic if I should buy that phone without using it. Well, Vivo is one of the top smartphone player which is selling offline. This is good for those who make up their mind and want to buy the smartphone immediately rather than waiting for an exclusive sale day which may last for just seconds. Vivo V5 is available across 20 cities across the country starting today both online and offline. So you could check out the phone at a store near you.
Vivo V5 comes with a 64-bit Octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB on-board storage. Apart from that, it can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card and supports 4G VoLTE. It sports a AK4376 Hi-Fi audio chipset which is a good quality DAC and a fast fingerprint sensor to add-on to security and easy access/unlock. These updated specifications not only look good on paper but they do perform as well.
Vivo V5’s highlight feature is it’s Moonlight Selfie 20MP front-facing camera. Vivo V5 comes with a 13MP rear camera with a sensor from Sony. Vivo V5’s front camera clicks selfies with a very high-resolution so it actually doesn’t pixellate even when zoomed up to a level. Adding to this, Vivo has also bundled a Moonlight Glow feature which actually is a warm LED light thrown to keep the skin tone as natural as possible. As mentioned earlier, the Moonlight Glow is basically a 4500K warm light thrown out of an LED placed on the front along with front camera. It can be disabled at will but it fits only specific use cases.
Even though this is not a much talked feature about the Vivo V5 but in our battery tests it performed well. Vivo V5 comes with a 3000mAh battery which along with the software optimization runs for quite a good time for the day. Moreover, it charges quickly as well. V5 comes with a 5V~2A output charger which charges the smartphone from dead zero to full in up to 2 hours. This might not be as fast as Dash charging on the OnePlus 3 but it is well up to the quick charging standards.
Vivo V5 runs on a fully customized user interface based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is called as FunTouch OS. FunTouch OS is a hybrid which constitutes of all the good features from different user interfaces. iOS like Control Center with a lot of control to customize, smart motion features kinda alike from Samsung, Smart Multi Screen, Super Screenshot, Smart Click etc. makes it different from others and give customers an option to choose to experience the change.
