Update Motorola Moto G to Android 4.4.2 KitKat

Motorola Moto G, the table flipping budget Android smartphone which was launched in India on February 5, 2014 in exclusive partnership with Flipkart as the only distribution partner has got the latest Android update as promised.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat software update which was guaranteed at the time of launch has been rolled out for Moto G in India. The handset came with Android 4.3 out of the box but now it becomes the first budget Android smartphone to receive Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Motorola which was recently acquired by Lenovo has arrived India once again probably seeing some potential in Indian market.

Motorola’s Moto G obviously is a boon for Indian population because the kind of smartphone experience it provides without compromising quality is what market in countries like India need where the masses prefers ‘more for less’.

This latest version of Android brings further cool new features to the Moto G, including an improved phone dialer, new photo editing options in the Gallery app, the ability to print documents and photos, and more. Updating the Moto G simple you need to follow some basic steps as mentioned below and leave your smartphone connected to the internet and power supply until the update is completed. There is no charge for this upgrade other than the usual data connection charges.

Upgrading to Android 4.4.2 KitKat:

  1. Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.
  2. Select “About phone”
  3. Select “System updates”
  4. Select “Download”. After the software is downloaded, select “Install”
  5. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically

For those who haven’t got their hands-on the smartphone yet and what to purchase it now, for your information there are two models based on the internal storage which cannot be further expanded so choose your preference wisely. The 8GB model costs ₹12,499 and 16GB for ₹13,999 from Flipkart.com.
