LG Announced G8 ThinQ and G8s ThinQ Flagship Smartphones

The South Korean smartphone company unveiled two new G ThinQ series flagship smartphones during the MWC 2019 event in Barcelona, Spain, called LG G8 ThinQ and G8s ThinQ. Both smartphones come with high-end specs and amazing features on board. The LG G8 ThinQ comes with 6.1-inch OLED display panel that supports 3120 x 1440 pixels of resolution and offers 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The company calls the display is Crystal Sound OLED. The phone comes with a glass panel on the back side and looks very similar to the last year LG G7 ThinQ.

LG G8 ThinQ is powered by Octa Core CPU under the hood along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm chipset along with an Adreno 640 GPU on board. The G8 ThinQ has 6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM along with 128GB (UFS 2.1) internal storage. The phone also comes with a micro SD card slot on board that allows users to expand the memory space up to 2 TB more.

In terms of photography, the phone featured with triple camera sensors on the back side of the phone which placed horizontally along with LED flash. The camera sensors configuration is first main 12-megapixel camera with f/1.5 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, a secondary 12-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size and a third 16-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera with f/1.9 aperture, 1.0µm pixel size.

On the front side, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. The front camera also comes with f/1.7 aperture, 1.22μm pixel and 3D ToF (Time of Flight) sensor too. Users can also use the front camera to unlock the phone. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box. It packed with 3,500 mAh capacity battery inside the body along with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.

In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C 2.0 (3.1 compatible). The LG G8 ThinQ also comes with MIL-STD 810G certification that makes it water and dust resistant. There is a 3.5mm audio jack present on the bottom side.

LG also unveiled the G8s ThinQ smartphone at MWC 2019 event too. The G8s ThinQ comes with slightly bigger 6.2-inch OLED display with 2248 x 1080 pixels. It powered by same Octa-Core CPU and Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 7nm chipset under the hood and there is also Adreno 640 GPU present on board. It has 6 GB of RAM and two internal storage option, 64 GB and 128 GB. Both the variants supports micro SD card up to 2 TB.

LG G8s ThinQ comes triple camera rear camera setup. There are a 12-megapixel main camera with f/1.5 aperture, 1.4µm pixel, a 12-megapixel telephoto secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture, 1.0µm pixel and 13-megapixel ultra wide angle camera. It has the same 8-megapixel front camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1.22μm pixel size and 3D ToF sensor. It packed with a slightly bigger battery than the G8 ThinQ, 3550mAh battery. The G8s ThinQ also supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 feature.

At the announcement event, the company did not reveal the price and availability of both flagship smartphones but the LG G8 ThinQ will be available in Carmine Red, New Aurora Black, and New Moroccan Blue colors color options.
