So there’s more to the photo-wars than we thought (or didn’t). Corel is taking a shot at the already existing Aperture and Lightroom by releasing their Aftershot Pro. News comes from their own wesbite, that the new software is fully multithreaded and optimized for multi-core and multi-CPU machines. Nicely priced at 99$ (Linux, Win, Mac), it gives a stiff competition to others. Power packed with features such as complete RAW workflow, flexible management, advanced non-destructive editing, robust metadata tools, batch processing, and integration with the image editor of your choice, it is indeed a news in itself. Corel claims a breakthrough performance with this release, which we are yet to experience. Demo is available on their website if you are curious, physical copies to be shipped by month’s end.
