CES News: Dell Planning to Launch Tablet by the End of 2012

Despite the unsuccessful run of many tablet makers other than Apple, Dell is allegedly bringing a consumer-focused tablet to the tech market by the end of the year. Although they have already launched the Dell Streak, which was unsuccessful, Dell are thinking about re-entering the tablet market. Dell has been keeping an eye on their close competitors. According to Reuters, Dell has said that they are being very careful with their next step in the market, although they are planning to do something by the end of the year. The only unknown thing about the tablet is whether it’s running on Windows 8 or Android. An older road map showed dell planned to make a tablet for both the platforms, but nothing was ever finalized. Further ahead Dell plans to make the tablet business affiliated, keeping in mind about the consumer focus. In Dell’s words, “We’ll see consumers respond to this strategy.”
