News: Amazon’s Silk browser ported to rooted Android devices

Amazon’s Silk browser used on its Kindle Fire tablet has been now ported to other Android devices (only rooted ones) succesfully thanks to the folks over at XDA Developers.

Amazon’s Silk browser uses the same technique as of Opera and uses Amazon’s servers to compress the websites and load them faster on slow internet connections and is quite useful to the average user because it speeds up loading times and and lowers bandwidth.

XDA forum member TyHi has ported the Silk browser on Android phones running Gingerbread and are rooted, the forum members also report that it also runs on CM7 with only Android 4.0 running phones being the only exception. So, if you want to try the Silk Browser on your rooted Android phone head over to the source link below  and get the details and instructions and do tell us how does the browser fare in comparision to Opera Mini and Opera Mobile.
