This is to alert you that there is an app in the Windows Phone marketplace which appears to be a rip off of the very popular of the online music service – Spotify. The app which surfaced on December 20, is being sold for $0.99 where as the real Spotify app can be downloaded free of cost, it is published by a user called khanamish – who also has two others apps in the marketplace, and does seem to be a legitimate developer – and we don’t mean to cause any loss to any developer.
Other signs to look for to differentiate between the two are that the real Spotify is listed with a capital “S” in the title and uses the Spotify logo, whereas the fake one’s icon actually has the word “Spotify” as its icon. Also, only two reviews and other apps by this developer looking exactly same as this one do make this sound really dubious. We would rather not have our readers use this app, especially when the real Spotify app is available for free.
If anyone has any other information about the app or the developer, we’d be interested in knowing.
