News: Gmail update for Honeycomb brings ICS features

Google has released an update to its Gmail app for Android Honeycomb users which brings Ice Cream Sandwich like features to Tablets running Honeycomb. The Gmail for Android 2.X devices too have received an update but its a minor one.

The update for Honeycomb users brings swiping between conversations and the introduction of a 30-day local message sync in order to help speed-up search performance, improvements to label handling, letting you set custom notifications and quickly access recent labels. These features where once exclusive to Ice Cream Sandwich.

The update to 2.X devices brings some improved app performance, and developers will now be able use new API hooks for working with labels.
