Augmented reality was barely a concept few years ago which looked too good to believe. Today the same innovative technology with some brilliant ideas can be seen in action and we believe there is a lot better to come in future.
WOWSOME being one such application designed based on the concept of augmented reality which create a whole new opportunity for advertising medium. WOWSOME is an application by Rev Eye Technologies Pvt. Ltd. based out of Hyderabad, India that transforms how a user might interact with their surroundings and that’s what we know as augmented reality. It’s available as a mobile application ready for two mobile operating systems as of now, Android and iOS but shall be soon out for Windows Phone.
It uses the host smartphone’s camera to scan for the physical image. Then the app identifies the object and looks for pre-loaded multimedia content related to the identified object. One example which we witnessed was an interactive invitation at an interaction with WOWSOME team. Scanning the invitation from the app transformed into an interactive multimedia content with AV.

In a short interaction with Mr. Vishal Reddy, Founder CEO, WOWSOME, he told us how he came up with the name which is what you might already have predicted WOW + AWESOME = WOWSOME. He also explained that there are those conventional methods and these new digital methods of advertising but WOWSOME is actually a bridge between these two mediums. In response to our question about the need for this, he told us about its accessibility for both publishers and the targeted users without any restrictions.
The app also includes some of the fancy features which they call WOW Art creating fun pictures with a catalog of objects/people/characters. WOWSOME has partnered with some of the brands like Jaguar, Budweiser, FUJIFILM to roll out the new advertising medium which assists brands to interact with their customers better.
