Spongebob, square pants: Battle for Bikini Bottom was released in 2003, and although the critic’s reviews were mixed, the game became a game changer after a remake last year. The rehydrated version is already available on all major consoles and PCs, but a mobile version is now on the move, thanks to the developer HandyGames.
Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated was developed by Purple Lamp Studios and published by THQ Nordic, but the mobile version was created by another THQ studio, HandyGames. There is a trailer of the game captured on an unknown phone, and it looks pretty close to the PC and console version. The game costs $9.99, without purchase or advertising in the application, and will support the description of the controller states in the trailers.
HandyGames has confirmed in a tweet that there is no multiplayer mode in the game, but the mobile version of Rehydrated is quite similar to the ones on other platforms. In Battle Bikini Bottoms you must collect items and defeat the robots that invaded the Bikini Bottoms (home of SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends), as well as navigate through the 3D platform sections and various puzzles.
The Android version is available for pre-registration in the Google Play store and is expected to land on the 21st of January.
