Sony Announces the Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R Full Frame Cameras along with RX10 in India

Sony today on 26 November 2013, redefined imaging with the launch of three new cameras and full frame E-mount lenses in India. Eagerly awaited by photography professionals and enthusiasts, the Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R mirrorless with interchangable lens take imaging to a new level. Alpha 7 is the smallest and lightest 35mm full frame interchangeable lens camera available till date. The Cyber-shot RX10 on the other hand is the bridge style camera for DSLR entusiasts the new Cyber-shot RX10 packs the same power of the camera body plus several lenses used earlier and delivering superb picture quality adding on the portability.

Sony Cyber-shot RX10:

The RX10 as said earlier is the bridge style camera with a 20.2MP Exmor R image sensor alike what Sony has used on the RX100 II along with the BIONZ X processing engine. The device has a fixed 24-200mm Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T Lens with aperture size of f2.8. The camera features P/A/S/M operating modes and ISO settings up to 12800. It comes with easy connectivity options via Wi-Fi or NFC.
One thing which Sony boasts for the RX10 is it’s autofocus enhancement. Autofocus is now speedy and responsive, because of the new Direct Drive SSM mechanism that works in conjunction with the Exmor R CMOS sensor and powerful BIONZ X processor.

It allows to create extremely smooth, highly-detailed Full HD video, at selectable 50p (AVCHD progressive) or cinematic 25p frame rates, with full control over P/A/S/M exposure modes.

Sony Alpha 7 and Alpha 7R:

Sony claims that the Alpha 7 and Apha 7R to be the world’s lightest and smallest 35mm mirrorless full frame interchangable lens cameras till date. Both of them have fast Auto focus, and are equipped with advanced imaging features with Bionz X processor, bright XGA OLED Tru-finder, full HD video recording, Wi-Fi and NFC connection.

Alpha 7R being the lightest with 406 gram (body only) features a 35mm 36.4MP full frame sensor 14-bit RAW recording. On the other hand, Alpha 7 weighs 416 gram (body only) and has 24.3MP resolution that too allows 14-bit RAW recording. Both of them are compatible with Sony E-mount and full frame lenses and features fast intelligent AF optimized for full-frame sensor.

Availability

The RX10 shall be available for Rs. 84,990 and will be available in the market by December end whereas the Alpha 7R and 7 too will be available in the market for Rs 1,24,990 and Rs 94,990 respectively by the same time.
