The Chromecast was a great success for Google and now Google has unveiled a tiny new HDMI dongle known as Chromebit that can turn any display into a full competent computer just like Intel’s HDMI Stick with Windows 8.1 on board and Intel Compute Stick with Windows 10.

Google Chromebit is manufactured by Asus and sports two ports- one HDMI and one USB. The first is used to connect the Chromebit to an external display, while the USB 2.0 port is used for power and to connect peripherals like a keyboard, also the device has bluetooth capabilities. The device includes a swiveling plug for hard-to-access ports, and it will come in a variety of color options.

Specifications of Google Chromebit are :-

  • Rockchip 3288 SoC processor
  • Dimension: 11.4 inches * 8.1 inches * 0.71 inches
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB of eMMC memory,
  • USB 2.0 port
  • WiFi 802.11 ac support, Bluetooth 4.0
  • Smart Ready controller and an ARM Mali 760 quad-core GPU

It will cost less than $100 when it goes on sale this summer, though exact pricing and availability aren’t yet clear.
