PC computing is now even more affordable with the launch of new Google Chromebooks in India

After an eventful success of the Chromebooks in the west, Google India launched their affordable range of Chromebooks in India last week. Google has tied up with local and big OEM players to manufacture and build these chromebooks based on the reference design much like what it did for the Android One.

Selling a chromebook for as cheap as INR12,999 Google with its partners has really made personal computing affordable. Earlier generation Chromebooks whichever we saw had a very poorly designed keyboard which much less spacing within the keys. Fortunately this has been listened upon and improved though the form factor have to be small you should not compare it with your present laptop keyboard. We felt that the typing experience was acceptable not bad as last time. All the Chromebooks come with a 16GB flash storage and Rockchip 3288 SoC a 1.8GHz quad-core Cortex A17 processor along with a quad-core ARM Mali 760 GPU paired with 2GB RAM. It do come with an support for microSD card two USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, a 1MP web camera and comes with Bluetooth 4.0. They each have a 11.6″ TFT (1366x768p) display and is powered by a 4200mAh battery.

These Chromebooks will be available by four manufacturers, Xolo from Snapdeal.com, Nexian Air from Amazon.in and Asus C201 and Chromebook Flip along with a Samsung model later from offline retailers.
