iQOO 3 5G smartphone with Snapdragon 865 launching in India soon

Recently in the past month, Vivo has announced that its sub-brand, iQOO, which stands for ‘I Quest On & On,’ will be launching a 5G smartphone in India. In a press note today, iQOO revealed the name of the device and announced that it would be launching the iQOO 3 5G this month through Flipkart and its website iqoo.com. Through a teaser from Flipkart, it shows that they will launch it on February 17th. However, it is doubtful that the smartphone itself is launching on the 25th of February in China.

The iQOO 3 5G was recently caught being used by the iconic cricketer Virat Kohli in New Zealand. And the TENAA listing already leaked the specifications of the phone, and it’s been in speculation since then. The iQOO 3 5G comes with the Snapdragon 865 SoC along with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and with UFS 3.1 storage. Clearly, iQOO is trying to make up a competition to the smartphone makers like OnePlus, Huawei, and Xiaomi.

From the leaks, the iQOO 3 5G is said to sport a 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. In the camera section, it is meant to sport a 64MP primary Sony IMX686 sensor along with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, 13MP telephoto/periscope lens for lossless zoom and a 2MP depth sensor. It gets 5G SA/NSA and dual 4G LTE in terms of network connectivity and packs a 4500 mAh battery, which supports 55W Super FlashCharge.

Talking about their partnership with Flipkart, Gagan Arora, Director-Marketing at iQOO said,

iQOO has been created to deliver a unique experience to young, technology-savvy consumers. iQOO is born to be a challenger just like its users, and the entire design process is guided by the evolving needs of these consumers, who desire for best-in-class performance. iQOO phones are built for those consumers who are naturally skeptical of the status quo and are constantly seeking to improve themselves.

As said earlier, the device is all set to launch, but it seems unlikely that it will be launched a week before it will be launched in China. It might be that the Corona Virus circumstances are taken into consideration and hence an earlier launch in India; evidently, a more significant event.
