Jolla the Finnish mobile device developer has officially announced that they are open sourcing their first internal application project that is Sailfish Browser.
Jolla has been working on developing smartphone with operating system Sailfish to bring a vibe in the ecosystem. They have been contributing to a lot of open source projects like Mer and Nemo based on the same philosophy that to participate in the open source arena to create something new.
Sailfish Browser has been built on the top of Mozilla open source Gecko browser engine, using EmbedLite embedding API (also known as IPCLiteAPI). Starting from now the community can contribute actively providing fixes and improvements to the Sailfish Browser.
