LAVA along with Meghalaya state government take the initiative to empower the Indian Education Sector with new tools of digital learning

Students with M-TAB in Meghalaya distributed under Government’s Student Digital Learning Scheme.

 

A fast growing mobile handset company – LAVA International Ltd. announced to facilitate customized products to harness the potential of digital learning in India. It is basically there to create awareness and empower students with e-learning tools and technology. To provide the students a new broad perspective and an access to a whole new world – right at their fingertips.

The education sector worldwide is changing and getting more enhanced because of the global competitiveness. A recent research from TechSci states that Indian tablet PC market will cross $2 billion of revenue by 2013 end. This tremendous growth is seen due to the use of tablets in education and enterprise sectors.

According to reports, the Indian education sector’s market size in FY12 was estimated to be Rs. 341,180 crore. This sector has seen astounding growth rate. The use of digital technologies has also increased due to the increase in the Wi-Fi connectivity, proliferation of portable end user devices such as tablets and smartphones. This Indian education market size is estimated to increase to Rs. 602,410 crore by FY15. Lava aims to harness this potential by providing affordable alternatives to laptops. These amazing tablets are also incorporated with upgraded tools of digital learning.

Compared to all end user devices like PC’s, laptops, netbooks and smartphones, the tablets are most preferred and conductive for education. It provides large display, very easily accessible and portable with amazing connectivity. It is one of the most optimized device as far as education is concerned because of its long battery life, slick interface, interactive UI etc.

Coming to the endeavor, Lava introduced M-TAB in Meghalaya. Under Government’s Student Digital Learning Scheme, Lava distributed eleven thousand tablets. This was an initiative taken by the state government with a vision to change and adopt new methods for efficient learning. A pioneer in digital education solutions – iProf and Lava have joined hands for this education centric tablet.

Lava M-TAB comes with an in-built education app. Students can access all education contents from the Digital Library. The tablets which were distributed to the students of Meghalaya were pre-loaded with full study material of class XI and XII of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and MBOSE (Meghalaya Board of School Education). It also holds sample question papers for Medical & Engineering courses, audio books, teaching video formats etc. The M-TAB also sports Megh-Tube, this is a short video clip which showcases development activities happening in Meghalaya. It also comes with a 8 GB memory card.
