Lenovo announced new updates to its IdeaPad notebook series with three new devices – IdeaPad 5i Pro, IdeaPad 5 Pro, and IdeaPad 5G. The IdeaPad 5i Pro is powered by 11th generation Intel Core processors. The IdeaPad 5 Pro is powered by the next generation of Ryzen mobile processors from AMD. The IdeaPad 5G, on the other hand, is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G computing platform.
The IdeaPad 5G is designed as an always-on notebook with a Snapdragon X55 modem-RF system, which is part of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx 5G. The notebook is equipped with a 14-inch FullHD IPS display with a maximum brightness of 300 nits and a 100% sRGB color gamut. In terms of memory, there is a 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512 GB PCIe SSD installed.
The IdeaPad 5i Pro and IdeaPad 5 Pro are both available in 14 and 16-inch sizes and have a full metal chassis. The laptops have a 16:10 display, a 100% sRGB color gamut, and a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The 14-inch models support refresh rates up to 90 Hz, while the 16-inch models support refresh rates up to 120 Hz.
Weighing 1.45 kg for the 14-inch model and 2 kg for the 16-inch model, these lightweight notebooks are equipped with IR sensors for Windows Hello and support for Mirametrix’s Glance attention sensing software. They have several operating modes that can be switched by pressing Fn+Q, and you can switch between the refresh rates by pressing Fn+R.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 5i Pro is powered by 11th generation Intel Core i7 processors, NVIDIA MX450 GPUs, up to 16GB DDR4 memory, and up to 1TB SSD M.2 PCIe storage. The IdeaPad 5 Pro will feature next-generation AMD Ryzen mobile processors, NVIDIA GeForce RTX notebook GPUs, 32GB DDR4 memory, and 1TB PCIe M.2 SSD.
Along with all these notebooks, Lenovo also announced two new consumer IPS monitors, the L24i-30 and L27e-30. They feature an advanced anti-reflective / anti-glare coating and Eye Comfort technology certified by TÜV Rheinland and support AMD FreeSync technology for 75 Hz panels.
The 14-inch IdeaPad 5G notebook will be available in selected markets soon, while the 16-inch IdeaPad 5 Pro notebook starts at $1149.99 (approximately Rs. 84,000) and is expected to be available in May 2021. The 14-inch IdeaPad 5 Pro will be available in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) in March 2021 and will be available from €799.00 (approx. Rs. 72,000).
The 16-inch IdeaPad 5i Pro notebook will be available in EMEA from March 2021 for the price of €899 (approx. Rs. 81,000), while the 14-inch model will be available in EMEA from March 2021 for the price of €699 (approx. Rs. 63,000).
The Lenovo L27e-30 monitor is priced from $189.99 (approximately Rs. 14,000) and should be available from March 2021, while the Lenovo L24i-30 monitor is priced from $159.99 (approximately Rs. 12,000) and should also be available from March 2021.
