Motorola has finally launched its new Moto Defy rugged smartphone. The device is made in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense. The device packs with IP68 water and dustproof certification and is also certified to survive a 5-foot drop from a height of six feet (one meter). Besides the rugged casing, it’s basically a Moto G9 Play.
Let’s talk about what the device offers, Starting from the display, it has a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen along with a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The body is protected by a ruggedized plastic body that is IP68-certified for water and dust protection and can operate in temperatures ranging between -25°C to +55°C. The device can also be used in wet hands.
In the optics department, the device gets a 48-megapixel primary rear camera paired with 2-megapixel + 2-megapixel usual macro and depth sensors. At the front, we get an 8-megapixel selfie camera housed inside the dewdrop notch.
Around the back, we get a 48MP primary camera which is backed by two 2MP modules for macro shots and depth data. The Snapdragon 662 sits at the helm aided by 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage.
The Motorola Defy will be available in selected markets in Europe and Latin America with color variants Forge Green and Black and will cost £329 ($292 / approx. Rs. 29,075) / £279 ($388 / approx. Rs. 28,820).
