Apple recently published its financial reports for the fourth quarter of 2011, 37.04 million iPhones were sold in the quarter, adding to the 15.43 million iPads in the same period. According to a recent Kantar Worldpanel ComTech research, Apple is now accounting for 44.9% of the U.S. market in the October – December period and has a lead of .1 % over Google’s Android.
Apple managed to double its fourth quarter share of the U.S. market compared to the same period of the last year, and they would definitely try to continue leading. The introduction of the iPhone 4S has been one of the main reasons for the growth of sales while in the Android camp Motorola Mobility, HTC, and Sony Ericsson saw a decline in sales, which eventually led to Google’s general loss of market share.
