The BlackBerry PlayBook has been quite in news for some time now as it recently received the much awaited 2.0 update which brought massive improvements to the capable tablet and now we have reports confirming that next gen BlackBerry OS 10 will be coming to PlayBook eventually.
Now this is some real good news for the PlayBook owners since the BlackBerry 10 is RIM’s last effort to regain its lost market and even some pride and it is expeted to launch late this year.
Rob Orr , VP Product Management at RIM confirmed the news “We’ve said publicly a number of times that our first BB10 handset will be available towards the end of 2012, and that’s still firmly the case.” and “At some point after the launch we’ll bring BB10 to our PlayBooks, yes”, he added.
The new BB OS 10 is expected to be based on the QNX operating system which PlayBook runs and some leaked screenshots give us a nice impression but we’ll judge it once it gets unveiled by RIM, we can’t wait!
