News: HP announces Omni 27 all-in-one PC

HP does seem to have a few desktops up its sleeves despite being majorly focused on laptops and ultrabooks, like the Omni 27 all-in-one PC which the folks at The Verge went hands-on with recently. The Omni 27 has got a 27-inch 1080p LED-backlit display, edge-to-edge glass on the screen, and a design exactly same as HP’s TouchSmart all-in-one PCs. The base system does start at $1,199.99. That includes a 2.5GHz Sandy Bridge Core i5-2400S processor, integrated graphics, 6GB of RAM, Beats Audio, two USB 3.0 ports, and an HDMI input. Omni 27 comes with TV tuner and Blu-ray drive options.

The Omni 27 is the first non-touch PC with its Magic Canvas software, which has the same interface including big icons and panes as its TouchSmart interface found on touchscreen all-in-ones. The machine is slated to go on sale on Jauary 8th in US.
