News: HP Unveils VantagePoint, 132″ Multi-Touch Display

HP has just unveiled an 132-inch interactive touch-screen display with multitouch abilities, dubbed VantagePoint. Yes you read that right a massive 132″ display.HP targets executive briefing centers, showrooms, retail, financial services, automotive, airline, consumer packaged goods, and the government with the VantagePoint but is surely not limited to only these.

The VantagePoint actually consists of six HP LD4730 47-inch displays (covered in Gorilla Glass) all linked together to create an 11- by 7-foot display with a total resolution of 4098 x 1536 functioning as an ultra-high resolution interactive wall that is capable of supporting up to 32 touch points simultaneously, while a separate HP Pavilion Slimline desktop handles audio separately along with color processing and a high-performance HP Z800 Workstation is integrated to handle the heavy stuff such as video and image processing. It runs on  Windows 7 with support for custom apps coded in JavaScript, Flash, C++, C#, or Microsoft Presentation Framework, while Total Immersion‘s augmented reality software is also included for developers to create exclusive apps with ease.

HP hasn’t revealed the price yet, but it is surely going to be pricy and will cost of considerable cash. According to reports, the Vantage Point will start from $125,000 USD (£81,500 GBP / €98,000 EUR).
