After HTC, Samsung, Quanta and Compal, its LG. Microsoft’s patent licensing ways continue one after the other catching the Android manufacturer’s as its prey, and this time it was LG. The two have signed a patent agreement that provides broad coverage under Microsoft’s patent portfolio for LG’s tablets, mobile phones and other consumer devices running the Android or Chrome OS Platform.
Exact terms of the agreement, were not made public. We can only guess Microsoft is going to make a lot of money out of this agreement. After this agreement, Microsoft now covers 70 per cent of the Android devices in US, under it’s patent licensing deal. This agreement also helps LG interpolate ChromeBook in future, interesting times ahead.
