News: Motorols reveals its Q4 results

Samsung has already posted their Q4 results which broke records while HTC faced loss for the first time. Now, Motorola reveals its Q4 results and they have posted modest profits.

According to reports, Motorola sold around 10 million mobile devices with 5.3 million being smartphones which is a slight increase on a year with last year’s 4.9 million but the total numbers have quite gone down from 11.3 million total hands.

Motorola says its earnings were impacted by the increased competitive environment in the Mobile Device business and higher legal costs associated with ongoing Intellectual Property (IP) litigation, possibly including its ongoing suit against Apple, the contentious case with Microsoft, and litigation by Intellectual Ventures. The company also brought up its upcoming acquisition by Google, which it expects to be completed early this year.
