News: Pressure Gets to Torrenting Site BTjunkie, Shuts Down

A voluntary action by its founders saw the BitTorrent search site BTjunkie.org shut down permanently. The mounting pressure on them rose as fellow torrenting and file-sharing websites faced heavy legal action with their ultimate end being with either arrests, and/or a shutdown of the service.

Surprisingly, BTjunkie were one of the few torrent sites never having been directly involved with any legal actions of threats for that matter. But to keep this clean sheet, the founders decided to call it quits and shut down their service. Although this may be a sad end, the founder also stated that  he hoped other sites will continue to serve the community and not cave in under any external pressure. The war isn’t over, he says, and the future holds immense possibilities.
