News: Refurbished Motorola Xoom Tablets Shipped with Old User Data

Motorola sold some refurbished Xoom tablets that weren’t as good as new. Agreeing to this critisiscm, Motorola confirmed that a few of these tablets sent to Woot weren’t refurbished correctly to erase old user data, such as account information or photographs. Luckily for Motorola, this issue is not widespread since only about 100 out of 6200 refurbished tablets sold are not completely free of old data.

Motorola has created a program to help you in case your refurbished Xoom tablet isn’t clean. For the users who returned the tablets, the company offered free two-year credit monitoring through Experian. It’s also giving away $100 gift cards for people who send back their tablet for refurbishing. Though Motorola messed up a little it quickly made up for its carelessness and responded proactively.
