Although delaying an official launch to mid-January 2013, Videocon has started the online retail sale of its 10-inch tablet, VT 10 at snapdeal.com and homeshop18.com at a price of Rs 11,200. The tablet sports a 10.1-inch 1280×800 pixels capacitive touch IPS display and runs on the latest version of Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It derives its horsepower from a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The device houses 1GB of RAM and 8GB flash memory with support for expansion upto 32GB. Also on board are front and rear cameras, both offering a resolution of 2-megapixels.
Talking about connectivity features, the tablet offers features such as Wi-Fi, 3G via dongle and HDMI. On the downside, there is no Bluetooth support. The tablet comes with a Li-Polymer-6800mAh battery, with the manufacturer claiming a browsing time of upto 4 hours on the device.
After the recent foray of Videocon into the smartphone category with the launch of dual sim Android handsets A30 and A20, the company is looking forward to becoming a prominent player in the affordable gadgets segment.
