Not to be left behind after President Obama’s Facebook profile update, the White House has one ahead to add the timeline feature to it’s profile as well. The new page comes with a history of the building and its occupants, from George Washington’s inauguration to FDA approval of ‘a new manufacturer of preservative-free methotrexate.’
A majority of the past events come with links to archived documents or more information, giving users a brief history lesson while browsing. As of now, it looks slightly incomplete, but the administrators have said that they will be adding more information as time goes by. With Congress members and other politicians slowly cozying up to Facebook’s new feature, and President Obama’s recent joining of Pinterest, it is expected that almost every government entity will be represented on social media.
