OnePlus X Recieves official CyanogenMod 13 Support

Few months ago CyanogenMod announced the first nightly builds of CyanogenMod 13 (CM13) running Android Marshmallow 6.0, which will begin rolling out to a handful of select devices. The range of devices was reasonably small, containing just seven entries, but CyanogenMod promised they were working hard to get that list to expand rapidly. Last week OnePlus started seeding the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to the handsets in the form of the latest build of its commercial OS – Cyanogen OS 13. And today CyanogenMod has announced Official CyanogenMod Nightly build for OnePlus X.

Nightly builds are not as bug-free but they are still reliable enough that many users don’t mind facing a few issues here and there in order to stay on the bleeding edge. As always, nightly builds are not designed to be used as a daily driver ROM as there’s no guarantee that everything will work properly. Sometimes a new nightly will break functionality for a certain feature like WiFi or Bluetooth to name a few, and in other cases it may cause a bootloop after installation and not work at all. It’s generally not advised that regular users flash nightly builds unless they are feeling especially adventurous. But CyanogenMod nightly builds can be fun for users who can wait for the OEM’s to push the official OTA of the latest Android variant.

Users can download and Flash the latest nightly build of CyanogenMod 13 on their OnePlus X devices from here. As this is a nightly build it might contain a few bugs which will be fixed by CyanogenMod in the future nightly builds. We are giving a step by step guide to install latest CyanogenMod nightly on OnePlus X. Users need to flash this Nightly build at their own risk. We are not responsible for any bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed.

INSTALLATION GUIDE:

  • Take necessary backups
  • Be rooted w/ a custom recovery ( TWRP recommended )
  • Download latest nightly build for OnePlus X and move them to your phone
  • Reboot to Recovery
  • Wipe (full wipe if coming from another Rom )

  • Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache
  • Reboot to System
  • Setup and Reboot System
