Oppo R1 announced in India for ₹26,990

Oppo R1 which was earlier showcased at the launch event of Oppo N1 in India has been announced officially by the company. Oppo having a strong user base in North America, Europe and Asia and has made its entry into the Indian market in early 2014 with its flagship device and now they are ready to launch their second handset in the country.

Oppo on April 30, 2014 have announced the Oppo R1 which they claim as capable to deliver excellent results in low light. Oppo R1 sports a 5-inch IPS HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels resolution. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor paired with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. OPPO R1 measures 142.7 x 70.4 x 7.1 and weighs about 140 grams with its 2,410 mAh battery.

The R1 features an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera both with f/2.0 wide aperture, which is said to be capable of delivering excellent images in low light conditions.
The camera lens comes equipped with a coating which significantly increases transmittance and reduces light loss. The blue glass filter effectively eliminates more than 90% infrared light and other unwanted rays, preventing problems such as glare, red eye, color cast, and reproduces true color. It also features the PI technology which can produce more natural white balance and more precise auto focus.

Pricing and Availability

Oppo R1 has been priced at 26,990 in India but there has been no word on the availability of the device.
