Amazon Launches Kindle Paperwhite in India; Available Starting February 4

Amazon launches the sixth generation of Kindle e-readers which includes the all new Kindle Paperwhite in India today on January 15, 2014. The new Kindle Paperwhite features new display technology with higher contrast, the next generation built-in light, a faster processor, the latest touch technology, and exclusive new features designed from the ground up for readers.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is the sixth generation of e-readers and with the advent of Amazon India, Kindle had finally arrived officially. Kindle Paperwhite as we know has a built in backlit display which not only improves the visibility but also expands the use case like you can now read in the dark. Better as always Kindle has 8 weeks of battery life packed in just 206 grams of weight. It has improved some of it’s features like vocabulary builder, in-line footnotes, cloud collections, added parental controls and all this utilises a 25% faster processor compared to the previous version. The Amazon Kindle comes in WiFi only and WiFi + 3G variant and will be available starting February 4, 2014.

Pricing and Availability

The new top-of-the-line Kindle Paperwhite is priced at Rs 10,999/- and the new Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi + 3G is priced at Rs 13999/-. Starting February 04, 2014, the new Kindle Paperwhite will also be available offline across 250 retail outlets across India including Croma, Reliance Digital, E-Zone, UniverCell and Vijay Sales stores located in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Pune. The e-book reader is available for pre-order on http://amazon.in right now and the shipping starts on February 4, 2014.
