WD launches My Cloud personal cloud solution in India

With the ever increasing amount of data being produced and circulated in the current scenario, Research firm Gartner estimates that the average household will own approximately 3.3 terabytes (TB) of digital content by 2016. Looking at the numbers you might not feel it big because terabyte is quite heard these days but when it comes to 3.3TB from each and every household believe me it will be massive and there will be problems accessing that data especially for those who use multiple devices.

Features

WD, a Western Digital company which is a leading storage solutions provider launched a new product in its series of external storage which is called as the My Cloud which is a personal cloud solution for a family. It maybe of some use to SMEs but it will vary a lot depending on their needs. My Cloud basically centralize your digital data with secure limited access provided by the administrator. Connecting your internet to My Cloud personal cloud drive will enable your family members to access the data remotely on their devices with one simple requirement, that is good internet connectivity. Using My Cloud, users can share files, stream media and access content anywhere with no additional costs which makes it a perfect alternative to public cloud services where your data might be at stake.

WD My Cloud has WD inhouse applications to backup and easily navigate through your data on desktops and mobile devices running on Android and iOS.

Pricing and Availability

My Cloud personal storage is available in 2TB, 3TB and 4TB storage options for ₹10,999, ₹12,999 and ₹14,999 respectively and is compatible with Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, Snow Leopard, as well as DLNA/UPnP enabled devices.
