Western Digital launches 4TB My Book hard drive in India

Western Digital today on May 22, 2013 expanded their WD My Book series with a massive 4TB addition. Earlier My book series had the hightest of 3TB option which is now pushed a 1TB further with an increase in price too.

As we know, WD My Book is the desktop hard drive expandable option with super transfer rates and obviously supporting USB 3.0 which makes it a perfect solution for backup and storing large files such as HD content. These MyBook provides the best solution to never ending memory needs and for backups. My Book are compatible with Mac and PC operating systems with special software support. Windows PC users can make use of WD SmartWare™ software, while Mac users can take advantage of the features offered by Apple® Time Machine® to protect their data. The 4TB My Book also features WD Security™ that allows consumers to secure both drive and data against unauthorized access with password protection and hardware encryption.

“With 4TB of storage on offer this My Book is ideal for consumers with large data requirements,” said Khalid Wani, WD’s sales director of branded products, India, Middle East and Africa. “Thanks to the drive’s high-speed USB 3.0 interface, large data transfers to and from the drive occur in a flash.”

The WD My Book 4TB (WDBACW0040HBK) is available at all electronic retailers at an MSRP of ₹14,999 + taxes, and is protected by a 3 year limited on-site warranty. My Book desktop hard drives are also available in 2TB and 3TB capacities at an MSRP of ₹7,999 + taxes, and ₹9,999 + taxes respectively.
