Panasonic launches rugged Tablet and semi-rugged Notebook

Panasonic at an event in Delhi has launched its range of rugged and semi-rugged devices targeting Logistics, postal services and Manufacturing sector. The rugged tablets are TOUGHPAD FZ-X1 & TOUGHPAD FZ-E1 with MIL-STD-810G certification and IP68 rated. The devices can be submerged in water upto 1.5 meters for 30 minutes and can are having 3 meters drop resistance. Along with the launch of these rugged tablets Panasonic have also launched a semi-rugged notebook.

TOUGHPAD FZ-X1 & TOUGHPAD FZ-E1

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-X1 is a rugged 5 inch tablet running on Android 4.2.2 while TOUGHPAD FZ-E1 has the almost similar specifications as of Toughpad FZ-X1 running on Windows 8.1. The only difference between both the devices besides OS is the processor. These rugged tablets have 1D/2D Barcode scanner ideal for Logistics and Manufacturing Sector. The tablets are MIL-STD-810G certified and IP68 ratings. The tablet can work in a wide range of temperatures ranging from -20C to 60C. Both the Toughpad tablets are resistant to drop of up to 10 feet on concrete (Tested under Lab Conditions).

The Panasonic Toughpads are equipped with 3 microphones for intelligent noise cancellation and 2 configurable hardware button at the bottom in case on TOUGHPAD FZ-E1 and 4 configurable hardware buttons in case of TOUGHPAD FZ-X1. The most interesting feature of these tablets are that these are having Hot swappable batteries, the tablet have a built in small backup battery that has a battery life of 30-120 seconds which enables these tablets to work continiously 24*7.

  • Camera: 8MP (Primary) & 1.3MP (Front)
  • OS: Windows Embedded 8.1 Handheld
  • Battery: 6200mAh

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1 and Toughpad FZ-X1 are priced at INR 1,19,000 and Rs 1,09,000 respectively.

TOUGHBOOK CF-54

The Toughbook CF-54 is powered by 5th gen Intel Core i5-5300U vPro processor with magnesium chasis. The new semi-rugged Toughbook CF-54 is the thinnest and lightest semi-rugged PC in its category. The device has a long battery life upto 11 hours with hot replacable secondary batery. The Toughbook CF-54 is priced at IN 1,39,000.
