CES 2015: ASUS Announce the Zenfone 2 and Zenfone Zoom

Asus  has unveiled its flagship device Zenfone 2 and Zenfone Zoom at CES 2015. Both the smartphones will be shipped with Android Lollipop and updated new Zen UI.

The Zenfone 2

The Zenfone 2 focuses mainly on its design, it has brushed metal body that tapers to just 3.9mm on the edges.

According to Asus the smartphone is having 72% screen-to-body ratio which means there is more display on the body and fewer bezels. Also this is the first smartphone to be launched with 4GB of RAM , though a 2GB variant will also be available with lesser internal memory and dual core processor.

The ASUS Zenfone 2 will be available in March 2015 starting at $199. The Phone will be available in  4 colors – Osmium Black, Sheer Gold, Glacier Gray, Glamor Red and Ceramic White.

  • Display: 5.5 inches IPS Display (~401 ppi)
  • Processor: Quad-core 2.3 GHz Intel Atom Z3580

  • RAM: 4 GB
  • Camera: 13 MP with dual-LED flash
  • Secondary Camera: 5MP
  • Battery: Li-Po 3000 mAh (Non-Removable)

The Zenfone Zoom

Asus claims to launch the slimmest smartphone that features a 3x optical zoom. The unique selling point of this smartphone is its camera, which is a 13MP camera with laser autofocus. The smartphone is equipped with 10 element lenses to support 3x optical zoom. The Camera UI has manual mode to control features such as white balance, exposure, ISO, shutter speed and focal point.


The smartphone is expected to be available in Q2 for $399.
