Honor launches Honor 5X and Honor Holly 2 Plus in India

Honor the e-brand for Huawei launched two new smartphones in India called the Honor 5X and Honor Holly 2 Plus. Honor 5X takes on the 5.5-inch smartphone market with its affordable price tag of ₹12,999. Honor Holly 2 Plus basically joins the league of MediaTek MT6753 SoC running launched this year including the Lenovo K4 Note and the Coolpad Note 3 Lite. Honor Holly 2 Plus is launched at the price of ₹8,499.

Honor 5X Specifications:

Honor Holly 2 Plus Specifications:

  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 128GB with MicroSD
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1
  • Dual SIM (CDMA / 4G)
  • 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, f/2.0 aperture, OmniVision BSI sensor, 28mm wide-angle lens, 6P lens
  • 5MP front-facing camera
  • Supports 4G LTE and USB OTG
  • 4000mAh battery

Comparing these smartphones with the competitors, we feel the pricing to be a little on the higher side because Le1S is a perfect competitor for Honor 5X whereas Holly 2 Plus though having its USPs like CDMA support and 4000mAh battery might not be able to beat Coolpad Note 3 Lite at 6,999. When a mere 1000 bucks matter so much for the market, it clearly states that competition is very close.

The smartphones will be available at Flipkart and Amazon.in

We haven’t spent much time with the smartphone to draft a first impressions, so that will be coming soon when we have the smartphone for review.
