Nikon unveiled an Android powered point and shoot device last week namely the Nikon CoolPix 800c and now Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Camera and is pretty serious about it. It features some really high-end specs with a 4.8-inch Super Clear LCD display, a 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos SOC running all the show. It will come in WiFi, 3G and LTE variants. It will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 8GB of internal storage and a 1650mAh battery.
The most important feature of the Galaxy Camera is surely the camera as you would’ve known by now. It a 16-megapixel backside illuminated CMOS 1/2.3″ sensor (physically smaller than the one in the Nokia 808 PureView), a 23mm wide-angle lens with a 21x optical zoom and an optical image stabilizer. It also packs the usual fun filters and voice control, on-device video editing.
