Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 to sell exclusively on Flipkart for Rs. 5,999

Bringing on their first Flipkart exclusive product, Micromax has launched the Canvas Xpress 2 in India today. The new 3G smartphone which power packs decent hardware at a reasonable price point of Rs. 5,999. Yes, this might sound low for a newly launched smartphone but its true. Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 features:

  • 5-inch HD (720×1280) pixels resolution display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection
  • 1.4GHz Octa-Core processor MediaTek MTK6592M chipset
  • 13MP AF rear camera with OV Sensor and 2MP front-facing camera
  • 1GB LPDDR3 RAM and 8GB ROM
  • Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo output
  • 2500 mAh battery

One thing which turned out to be a total bummer, why is the smartphone still running Android KitKat? When Canvas Spark can launch with Android Lollipop, why can’t this? Well. Micromax has at-least promised to roll out an update in the coming weeks. Looking at its past, it’s hard to believe but let’s see.

The smartphone will be available for purchase from August 4, 2015 2PM onwards via a flash sale exclusively on Flipkart.com. This handset will be only available via the online flash sale model skipping the offline distribution this time. Registration for the same starts today.
