Micromax launches Canvas 4 in India for 17,999 INR

Micromax today on 8th July 2013 unveiled the most awaited Canvas 4 in India. Micromax started the pre-bookings for the handset few days ago with announcments on their facebook page without revealing the handsets specifications or the price. Surpsingly people trusted the Indian OEM so much that Micromax received 11,500 pre-orders where people invested or commited to invest 5000 bucks on a device with just knowing the brand name.

Micromax Canvas 4 features a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB RAM and 5inch Tru HD IPS display. Micromax this time has worked on build of the phone with the aluminium middle casing which acts an an antenna and gives a premium look to the device. Packed in just 8.93 mm thickness, Canvas 4 boasts 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera and am ample amount of internal storage to store pictures and videos shot from them. The handset has 16 GB of internal memory with up to 32GB expandable memory expansion and runs on the Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean operating system.

Canvas 4 implements some software advancements up on the usual Android functioning. It has blow to unlock feature where the users have to blow the screen to unlock the device. Other than this Micromax as an OEM has partnered with various software companies to provide their applications pre-installed on the device. Some of these are one Clay to download unlimited cool themes, Hike for instant messaging, Opera Mini, Spuul to watch free movies for a limited period, Customized Music Hub to get access to over 5 lac songs online music via ‘mionline music tab’, M! Security feature that offer security solutions including Back-Up, Anti-Theft Tracker, Anti-Virus and M! Live, to allow users to download HD/premium games, Kingsoft office suite, to help you view and edit your official documents.

Pricing for the device was the most important factor here and we think Micromax has done this job pretty well. Micromax Canvas 4 comes for ₹17999 and will be available across the country by this week. The box includes a free flip cover which comes as an optional accessory worth ₹2500. We shall provide with some more details when we recieve the device for review till then stay tuned.
