MWC: Huawei announces D series – Ascend D Quad, D Quad XL, and D1

MWC has just kicked off and Huawei have started the show in style with not one but three impressive smartphones i.e. Ascend D Quad, D Quad XL, and Ascend D1 ll under a stylish “Diamond Series” or the D series.

The Ascend D Quad is the flagship model of the company and as the name suggests features a  Huawei made K3V2 1.5GHz quad-core CPU which it claims is 49 percent faster than “the other fastest smartphones in the world,” that is certainly a bold yet impressive feat if they truly manage it and they also claim its new processor tech should make your phone considerably longer-lasting. The device packs a 4.5″ 720p display in a package of 8.9 mm thickness and weighs 4.6 ounces. It’s running Android 4.0, with three capacitive buttons below and it has a 8MP camera on the rear and 1.3 MP camera in the front, Dolby 5.1 surround sound support, along with earSmart technology which is said to improve noise cancellation,  and an modest 1800 mAh battery.

Huawei also announced the Ascend D Quad XL which has the same specs as that of Quad D but features a huge 2500 MAh battery which would truly appeal to heavy power users who want their devices to last longer.

Lastly, Ascend D1 is more of the mid-range model which features a dual core processor instead of the Quad-Core one, rest all the specs remain the same.

There is no word on pricing and availability although Huawei has said the device will be “for global markets,” We are really impressed with these smartphones and would love to get hands on them one day. Huawei is surely making its phones talk.
