MWC: Intel Announces Medifield, shows off reference design, Lenovo K800 promises 14 days battery backup

Intel’s MWC press conference has just got underway and it has started with Intel showing off a reference design of smartphones running Intel’s Medfield chipset. It also has reiterated the Lenovo K800 model which was announced at the CES.

Intel claims a fast camera, great battery life (14 days of battery life), and other goodies with its Medfield chip and a trio of benchmarks: browsing, JavaScript, and energy consumption by the graphics chip.

Intel also described the Lenovo K800 as the first phone powered by its Medfield SoC which was announced at the CES and the device promises 14 days of battery backup with the Intel chipset, the device will launch with China Unicom in Q2 2012.

 

Also coming up are details on Intel’s partnerships with ZTE, Visa, Lava, Orange and it’s range of processors.
