LG was the first to bring a dual-core smartphone to the market last year with the Optimus 2X, and they have done it again with the Optimus 4X HD. They have already unveiled several smartphones ahead of MWC: the L-Style line-up, Optimus Vu, and Optimus Tag, but we thought we would see the flagship LG X3 (which has turned out to be the Optimus 4X HD) at the MWC. LG has gone ahead and revealed the details of the Tegra 3 beast anyway.
The Optimus 4X HD is the first to feature a 1.5GHz quad-core Tegra 3 and a 4.7-inch True HD IPS LCD (1280×720), and the pictures show no capacitive buttons, which makes it sure to run Ice Cream Sandwich, although a little customised one. It also includes a 2,150mAh battery, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. At a depth of 8.9mm it’s only slightly thicker than the Optimus Vu. The Optimus 4X has the ability to output video to HDMI via its own MHL port with DLNA support. There is no word on NFC or HSPA+ which were listed in X3’s leaked specs, but we are sure to know more at MWC.
If the L-Style phones, Optimus Vu, and Optimus Tag failed to impress you then this is what LG had in store for you. The device really seems to be a beautiful beast. It seems LG is dead serious on making an impact this year, and it all starts with MWC. Stay Tuned!
